Assistive Technology
Assistive Technology is considered any type of system or object, which allows students with disabilities to increase or maintain their capabilities in and outside of the school environment. It could be as simple as a whiteboard, or as advanced as smart board. The possibilities are endless. There are many programs available today for students who need to use assistive technology for success in and outside of the school environment. Also, many studies have shown how AT is useful for helping exceptional children to learn, in particular Autistic children. It fills in their learning gaps, and gives students more confidence in their ability to be successful in school and life. Assistive technology is an amazing asset, and should be treated well by all who use it.
