BRAIN DEVELOPMENT
Perhaps no aspect of child development is so miraculous and transformative as the development of
a child's brain. Brain development starts early in embryonic life and continues well beyond birth into adolescence.
A child's environment as well as genetics plays an important role in the development of the mind (nature
versus nurture). A lot of researchers and scientists ideas about the brain have changed within recent years as
newer technology and theories challenge older thinking. By the age of 2 years old, the brain is about
80% of the adult size. Four different types of learning experienced in childhood are:
1. Motor Skills
2. Visual Capabilities
3. Emotional Capacity
4. Language
