I enjoyed learning how to fill out paperwork...sounds crazy right? Sometimes questions go unanswered as a teacher and I find myself having to ask too many people too many questions and usually results in people don't have too many answers.

Today's lesson included sooo Much information. I personally think we went a little fast but, that is only because I am a slow typer and it took me those few extra seconds to catch up. It is amazing how much paperwork is need even begin the process of an IEP, the assessments are a serious matter!

I like that we are walking through the steps and paperwork of the IEP process. It is very helpful to be learning this is a safe enviorment when I am not solely responsable for one child. This class really goes by fast which is good since there is alot of learning going on. The IEP process seems alittle daunting but we are making are way through it.

Today was a lot of information! I do think that it was beneficial to see the first steps that you need to take in order to start the IEP process. I did not realize all of the paperwork that is required to be submitted before the IEP is written for the initial evaluation. I am excited to start working on the actual IEP since I have seen IEPs in the schools and been in an IEP meeting but not ever been able to work on one. It will be interesting to see all of it put into practice and see how all the aspects of Joe's education are incorporated in the writing of his IEP.

WOW! My brain is still trying to catch up to what was said and I have to sleep on what I learned. I love the websites posted to help with families and IEP's. You will always have a reference to add to your bag of tricks.

Wow, this is fantastic! We did it...almost to the IEP. I can't imagine what it would be like to do this with no Gina! I think that when I do have to this, I will be back....!

Today class involved a lot of paperwork involved in the process of beginning an IEP. I can just image when we get to the IEP. It could have been over whelming, but you made it easier by taking us though the step by step process.I am still trying to soak it all in.

Eleanor was an insightful woman. We can complete all the paperwork and should know that we don't have to do it alone when the time comes. What we are doing in class as a group is giving us the courage and confidence to know that we can do this. Is it time consuming? Yes, but worth it for the child's case.

While the IEP paperwork has been a little intimidating so far, I can't imagine going into a job without this experience. I look forward to moving on to the actual IEP next week, and seeing how everything we have learned about Joe is applied to the writing of his IEP.

Going over every single step is helping a lot, but I do feel we move a bit to fast because I find myself glancing over other screens to catch what I missed. Regardless everything we're doing has been worth it because I would be so lost if I had to do this on my own.

I've worked on IEPs before and have been to a variety of IEP meetings, while working at the middle school in Needham. However, I was not aware of all the extra paperwork that must go in before the actual IEP is written. I think that going over each section is going to be very beneficial to my understanding of the process of writing an IEP.

I wish I had this kind of step by step when I began working on IEP's five years ago. The scope and sequence of the process is clearer to me now and I feel more confident involving para professionals in the process of creating the IEP and collecting data.
